2025 Bosworth Awards

Thank you for an inspiring afternoon at the 2025 Bosworth Awards!

The 2025 Bosworth Awards were a resounding success and we are filled with gratitude for everyone who helped make the day so special. To everyone who attended, thank you. Your presence made this sold-out celebration of Democratic leadership feel like a true gathering of friends and family.

A special thank you to our incredible Neighborhood Leaders. Your dedication to strengthening our communities and empowering and educating voters is the heart of our movement. We see your hard work, and we’re so proud to celebrate you.

We were honored to welcome our keynote speakers, Congressman Mark Takano and Supervisor Jose Medina, whose powerful words reminded us why we do this work, and how much we can accomplish when we do it together.

From the inspiring speeches to the delicious food, and the chance to connect with so many generous, hardworking Democrats, the event was a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when we show up for each other.

Bill Essayli’s Extreme Agenda is Wrong for California AD 63

Bill Essayli’s Extreme Agenda is Wrong for California AD 63

Electing Chris Shoults Will Send a Teacher, Union Leader to the Assembly

Riverside, CA – Voters in the 63rd Assembly District have a unique opportunity this November. Chris Shoults, a teacher, union leader, and dedicated community advocate, offers a clear vision of inclusive, community-focused leadership. Rooted in working-class values, Shoults prioritizes the everyday problems facing Riverside County residents:

  • He believes kids deserve top-tier education, safe neighborhoods, and a fair shot at success
  • He will work for common-sense solutions to reduce pollution, promote clean energy, and safeguard our natural resources for future generations
  • A staunch supporter of reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ equality, and criminal justice reform, he will fight to ensure everyone’s rights are respected and protected

Shoults has the endorsements of the Riverside County Democratic Party, the California Teachers Association, Inland Empire Labor Council, California Faculty Association, and Equality California—demonstrating his broad support across education, labor, and civil rights groups.

In stark contrast, Bill Essayli represents a regressive world of divisive culture wars and damaging policies. He has pushed policies targeting vulnerable groups, such as forcing schools to police students’ gender identities. He voted against the cleanup of idle oil and gas wells and failed to support the California Freedom to Read Act. He opposes Proposition 2, which would allocate critical funding for K-12 schools and community colleges. His failure to collaborate effectively with Capitol colleagues led to his unprecedented removal from the Judiciary Committee. By his own admission, he “didn’t come to Sacramento to pass more laws”.

The choice is clear: either extremism and division, or a leader who will fight for a brighter, more inclusive future. We proudly endorse Chris Shoults as the best choice for Assembly District 63.

RCDP Endorses Corey Jackson for Assembly District 60

RCDP Endorses Corey Jackson for Assembly District 60

Corey Jackson Sees A Future for All of Us. Ron Edwards Looks Backwards.

Riverside, CA – The Riverside County Democratic Party proudly endorses Corey Jackson for re-election in Assembly District 60. Jackson has broken barriers as the first openly LGBTQ+ Black member of the California Legislature. At the same time, Jackson has championed policies that advance affordable housing, healthcare access, and environmental protection.

Jackson’s priorities are motivated by a sense of economic and social justice. As chair of the Human Services Committee, he’s expanded social services and housing support. Jackson has been a leader in legislation aimed at lowering gas prices for commuters, expanded the California Youth Childhood Tax Credit, and fighting for racial equity through bills like ACA-7. In contrast, his opponent Ron Edwards represents regressive policies. Edwards is endorsed by far-right groups, including the Equal Rights for All PAC, which advocates against racial equity and gender rights. He opposes measures that protect LGBTQ+ youth and wants to roll back progress on racial justice.

With so much at stake, Corey Jackson is the clear choice. He is a proven advocate for Riverside County—fighting for inclusivity, fairness, and a brighter future for all. The Riverside County Democratic Party endorses Corey Jackson for AD 60 to continue the progress our district deserves.

RCDP Endorses Lisa Middleton for California’s 19th Senate District

RCDP Endorses Lisa Middleton for California’s 19th Senate District

A Champion for Progress, Battling Extremism

Riverside, CA – The Riverside County Democratic Party is proud to endorse Lisa Middleton for the 19th State Senate District. Middleton is a former mayor of Palm Springs and the first openly transgender person elected to a non-judicial position in California. Her leadership is focused on the issues that matter most: affordable housing, protecting reproductive rights, improving infrastructure, and defending the rights of all Californians.

Middleton is committed to building a more equitable and prosperous future. As mayor of Palm Springs, she boosted salaries for public safety workers, expanded the city’s financial reserves, and supported small businesses. She improved regional infrastructure, expanded affordable housing, and advanced environmental sustainability.

In contrast, her incumbent opponent Ochoa Bogh has repeatedly voted against the values of Riverside County residents. Bogh stands in opposition to reproductive rights, with a 0% score from Planned Parenthood. As Senator, Bogh opposed raising the minimum wage for California’s workers, denying many families the chance to make a living wage. Bough attempted to require schools to teach about anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers. She also voted against LGBTQ+ protections and opposed transgender-affirming healthcare.

Lisa Middleton’s platform is grounded in real solutions. She has consistently supported expanding healthcare access, protecting reproductive freedom, and securing good-paying jobs for working families. Middleton is running to ensure that every resident in the 19th District has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background. Her campaign is about fighting for all Californians—not just the few.
